Open Source Marketing Metrics - From 0 to 700 Customers in One Year
One important goal of open source software is to drive rapid adoption of a new product. Effectively, open source downloads become a marketing channel for producing qualified sales leads. Yet there are not many metrics available by which to judge the success of an open source channel. What percent of web site visitors should download the product? What percent of downloads should register in the community? Finally, the all-important question: what percent of registered downloads should convert to

Unadopted?
Yup. I’ve joined NaBloPoMo for November. I have no idea whether I’ll actually manage to post every day this month, but today’s the 1st and I’ve blogged today, so I’m off to a good start! A few days ago I was blog-hopping when I discovered a situation that made me think. A lot. I’m not going to share the blog I read it on, or reveal the names of the people involved, since I don’t want them to come and visit me and feel awful because I’m being negative and judgemental about their circumstances,
October 31, 2008: The Next Round of Book of the Month Club Picks, Upcoming Guests, and the Mailbag
When I started this little book club, I did so with the intention of creating a forum in which avid readers could gather to discuss works in the fields of science fiction and fantasy (and, later, horror). Well, to my delight, a goodly number of you took the time to participate, reading one, two, sometimes all three selected books and then joining in on the ensuing discussions. In time, these tri-monthly discussions grew as we welcomed more members and, eventually, several authors and editors who
Dealing With Diabetes
Dealing With Diabetes Coping with diabetes typically involves a combination of physical treatments and psychological adjustments. Over time, diabetes can affect the kidney, eyes and other vital organs and systems. The kidneys may filter less efficiently. Eyesight may become less sharp. But all those physical circumstances can be managed through careful diet, exercise, and (if needed) drugs. But coping with the disease and its effects involves another dimension, one less easy to quantify a
AT&T, Lenovo And Ericsson will provide broadband in netbook jointly
Business PC users now have a new, affordable option to access broadband-speed Internet via their ThinkPad notebook PCs by a new alliance announced by AT&T Inc., Lenovo and Ericsson. Under the agreement, AT&T’s 3G service — the nation’s fastest 3G network — is available on a full range of Lenovo ThinkPad notebooks, which come fa
Redirect: Adoption Video at Over the Rainbow
If you haven’t already viewed it, grab some tissues and head over to Marina’s blog at Over the Rainbow. On October 29th Marina posted Sarah’s adoption journey video in three parts. Sarah lived at the same facility where Hannah Claire is, and Marina got to peek in on our little peanut a few times, which this waiting mama greatly appreciates. Okay, remember the tissues and be prepared to have red weepy eyes when you’re done. Don’t say I didn’t warn ya.
Getting A Lawyer To Help With The Adoption Procedure
Getting A Lawyer To Help With The Adoption Procedure A substantial part of the adoption process is tied up with legal matters and adoption lawyers are a significant aspect in any adoption procedure. Anyone attempting this without a legal representative would find it almost impossible as they became tied up with legal matters for which they are not trained. ¶ Posted 01 November 2008 † Carol Bell § Legal ‡ Comments (0) ° Tagged: adoption lawyers
Greyhound Time
I haven’t stopped playing just because the Breeders’ Cup is over. I had to jump into opening day at Aqueduct Wednesday because you always have to bet on your birthday, and after investing just 12 minutes and $192 in the early pick-four, I caught a buck of the $4629 payoff just for beating a bad 2-5 shot in the opening leg. I haven’t cashed a ticket since, though not for lack of trying. Today and tomorrow, however, are more about greyhounds than horses. Halloween is a greyhound-centric event
